“ovi store” : Retort to apple’s App Store May 27, 2009

The tough growing  competition between Apple and Nokia is boosting a ton to the technology.

ovi-20070829-055049

With tight competition to Apple’s App store Nokia stood up tall with their much anticipated online software and content sotre  named ” Ovi Store”. which they have rolled out on monday and is planning and had promised to open the store globally this week.

Nokia had been moving Ovi Store to production servers as a preparation for the global commercial launch. The store was opened to users of few of its phone models in Australia and Singapore on Monday.

The Apple App Store is extremely popular, with nearly one billion applications downloaded within a year of its launch, prompting operators and technology firms including Vodafone, Nokia and Microsoft to vie for a piece of the pie by mulling similar launches.

“Nokia’s Ovi store is a step in the right direction but Apple is still the king of the hill when it comes to selling applications”.

Nokia, which made its first quarterly pretax loss in January-March, is cutting annual costs at its key handset unit by more than 700 million euros ($979.7 million) to counter the dip in phone demand.

nokia-n81-preview-pics-launch1

Nokia is trying to build a new business from mobile Internet services like games or maps. “Ovi Store is in some ways the last castle for Nokia – both N-Gage and ‘Comes with Music’ are industry laughing stocks.

Games and music have been spearheading Nokia’s services push, but its mobile gaming offering has had little success, and its much-hyped music offering, which bundles free music downloads with a sold phone, has also found few clients. Nokia will also sell games and music through the Ovi Store. “Ovi Store is where Nokia tries to re-group and muster its forces for a counter-offensive.

So guys i m loking forward to it.. as Nokia is always known as a money saver.. and is famous among billions of people just for that..!

hope this venture of Nokia profit them to a gud deal and we can anticipate much more from them in coming future.

Internet censorship : Next to March in India.! May 26, 2009

As we all know there have been lot happening through the internet these days. Not unfair to say that today’s world is paralized without these internet services. so, its a urge of the time that safe and secured internet services should be provided so that all the unfair happenings could be controlled. internetAnd, on this verge our government has taken some step to make it clear that everyone is been served with safe and good services. So, the censorship on internet is the recent update.

intrntIndia seems to be marching on China’s footsteps with a recent proposal to censor the internet space. This proposal comes on the heels of the recent proposal by government to censor news channels during emergency situations that eventually failed to come into effect. Though, the TV censorship was to be initiated only during emergency, the internet will be screened even under normal circumstances.

A Central government officer will be assigned to monitor the websites and news portals and block those materials considered as a threat to national security. The draft rules were prepared by the department of information technology. The rules are drafted under the recent amendments to the information technology (IT) Act. Though the act was passed by Parliament last December, it will not come into effect until the various rules under it are finalized.

According to this rule, every State or Central government department will be able to decide if a certain material relating to its jurisdiction is against the norms. If there is a complaint raised against a web host, the designated officer will give out a judgment after looking into the issue. Though, these new measures can harm the freedom of press, there is a small amount relief in a proposal to set up a review committee…!!

Now, India is the next team joining this censorship isssue of the internet. And i think its been really important these days to tackle this internet problems which is really effecting the world..at a good pace.!

Technology geared up more : DVD holds 2,000 movies now May 23, 2009

A recent research by scientist and their continuous efforts to present a upgraded DVD technology that can hold now more than 2,000 movies revolutionizing the way we store films, music and data.

The DVD is featured with nano-technology to store vast amount of information. They are eying this up gradation in next 5 years and planning to launch it in the market.

The breakthrough comes from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia, where scientists created a prototype using ‘nano rods’ – tiny particles of gold too small to see – and polarised light, in which the light waves only flow in one direction, reported Daily Mail.

A conventional DVD records music, pictures and computer files as digital code – a series of ones and zeroes. The code is written as a series of pits under the clear surface of the disc and is read by a DVD player’s laser.

The new disc stores information using two extra ‘dimensions’ – the color of light and the direction, or polarization, of light waves.

“These extra dimensions are the key to creating ultra-high capacity discs.

More information can be fetched on the link posted below. Hope u guys are looking forward at this up gradation too.

www.siliconindia.com   under the column technology and i m sure u will fetch much more than just this information.

Mumbai 26/11 : Slap On Indian Security System November 30, 2008

Multiple sites in the Indian city of Mumbai were attacked with bombs and gunfire in a coordinated terror attack on November 26, 2008. On November 29, the death toll had risen to over 195, including at least 22 foreigners. Over 300 injuries were reported. The last gunmen were cleared out of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel on Saturday morning, November 29, as firefighters continued work putting out blazes on the first few stories.

blast

I m not writing this blog to let everyone know that how many have been died n injured in this terrorist acitivity. Because, its been very well known by every Indian citizen and they can count the numbers with their every breath they take. Mumbai atack.. is yet anaother shame on the Indian security sytem. Terrorist numbers were ranging fro 10-20 members and they were so gutsy that they marched inside these multi star hotels and shattered every smile those people were sharing with their meal. Its not an issue whether an Indian died inthe attack or the foriegner, but the issue is that were those 20 members so powerful that they can get over our security systems..???

xinsrc_5921105271122703124626

They planned everything from Pakistan and then marched to India through ships n boats. Firstly, moving to porbandar and then to Mumbai and finally given the shape to what they have planned.

Now, the worst part is this… what were our Navy force was doing? They are there to protect the costal regions and have to sight every single small happening or mishappening on the coast. They never saw any happening ? why.? was it not their responsibility or they were just sleeping around the coast. The very next moment when those terrorist arrived over here in India.. few fisherman reported to the nearest police station but, was their any desired step taken up by the police.? what else a common man can do..they can  just help the local police by whatever relevant information they have.

They just never took it seriously.. and th result is what has shaken the nation.! When we will turn down the pages we will jut keep on thinking the causes and the loop holes which led to such a mis happening which were never expected. Still efforts woud be missing . The problem is , we never learnt from our mistakes. Comitting mistakes is a human nature but when u dn’t learn from them its ur irresponsibilty and the worst part,We are always great at it.  We are said to have the largest army in the world, but just to catch these few mutants we were compelled to use all our resources, whether its from army, to local police , or ATS or NSG. MAny hostages those were under the threat whole night, and people who were having themselves or their relatives down  under their guns were just expecting our best to let them free n breath under the free India. “INDIA Free from terrorism”.

                                        4087

I m not disappreciating the efforts made by Indian forces to saveguard the people down there . Infact, i m proud of them. The way they have fought to thier last breath without giving any thought to their mind abt thier life or death, serving their nation at their best. I salute all the martyer’s and soliders who were fighting for their nations’s pride. So that we can lively freely and can move with a smile on our face.

But, if we would have given a little care n attention would such an happening really  took place.? We  are busy in ourelves fighting for you are North Indian , i m MARATHi.. does we really care that we are INDIAN. Is’t we any more proud to be called an INDIAN. infront of the world we always show ourselves as a nation of unity, where so many religions, caste na ll prevals . But, what from inside.? what we are..? its just not happenning.  In order, to fight with such a big problem we got to stand of our own as a nation. And not as a marathi or a north Indian or a bihari, because it wil always divide us.

                                                            photo

Their are lot of political parties and poilitical leaders showing their sympathy and respect to those martyr’s . But the problem is this is anyone gonna always keep them in our memories.

Our beloved politicians, said that ” ki bade bade shehron main aisi choti baatien aksar ho jati hain”.(such happneings sometimes do take place in big cities)   Now, can anyone tell does it make any sense.??  Is this really such asmall happening tha our home minister can quote this way on it.! It shows how serious are our poiliticians on this issue, and their interest to make our nation free from this hazard. Now watch this, is this what our home minister called a “choti choti baatien”..(small happening).

The problem is not all about terrorism, the problem is still somwehere realted to us. Do we still work for NAtion’s progress.?

IF we really want our NAtion to be free from such an further activity from any terrorist front we got to stand in unity serving for the nation n not for the state. And yes offcourse, our defence should be treated more precisely and importance should be given on their trainings and they should b given the latest weapon with some authority to use them.

If such things are not gonna change, the question like this will always be there leaving an reason to arugue n question with the goverment  on the security reasons in India.

I m strongly with all the fighters who really bother to serve the Nation and my this blog is just to make u guys aware of what i feel might be the loop holes.

I dn’t wana get this slap ever again.!

Happening on the North Pole : global warming in term of melting ice June 28, 2008

Global warming has become a important issue today..and more of a worry.! Lot of scientist across the world.. is searching for all the information regarding the global warming.
The North Pole and the predictions regarding the north pole.. is a big worry for the scientist and as well as for the people around the world.
It seems our worst fears may come true. For the first time in the human history, ice is on course to disappear entirely from the North Pole this year.
Its expected that “North Pole may be ice free for the first time this summer”.
Firsthand, observations and satellite images show that the immediate area around the geographic North Pole is now mostly annual, or first-year, ice—thin new ice that forms each year during the winter freeze.
Such ice is much more tends to melt during the summer month, in comparison to perennial, thick and dense ice, that has lasted through multiple cycles of thawing and freezing.
IF it happens, it raises the prospect of the Arctic nations being able to exploit the valuable oil and mineral deposits below these a bed which have until now been impossible to extract because of the thick sea ice above.

The normally think ice formed over many years at the pole has been blown away  and replaced by huge swathes of thinner ice formed over a single year. The rate of melting is faster than last year, when there was an all time record loss of summer sea ice at Arctic.

Scientists are particularly interested in the North and South Poles because they are expected to show the most dramatic effects of global warming.

Models predict that the regions will see temperature increases roughly three times as quickly as the rest of the globe because of an effect known as ice albedo feedback, which occurs when highly reflective ice gives way to dark water.

The water absorbs much more of the sun’s energy, increasing temperatures and causing further ice melting.

Each summer the sea ice melts. But the last year, the loss of sea ice was so extensive that much of the Arctic Ocean became open water, with the water ice boundary coming just 1126.5 km away from the North Pole.

This means that about 70% of the sea ice present this spring was single year ice formed over last winter. Scientists predicts that much of the ice will melt this summer causing a global warming.

Here’s where the extent of sea ice in the Arctic stands now in relation to the average tracked between 1979 and 2000, and the remarkable ice loss in 2007:

Thus, all the data’s clearly figure out the extending ice on the poles.. and the knocking of global warming with the meting of ice on these poles. This clearly results, in the temperature change and thus effecting the climatic conditions as well..!!!!

well.. lets wait and see when we can go through  the clear image of this warming. Its expected not to reach by before 2013 to 2030.!

Thus, the global warming is not so far. And this can be easily visible in these , videos describing all the aspects of global warming and the melting of ice… on the North Pole.

i-Phones knocking at Indian Market.. GenX Phone.!! June 20, 2008

India is really making some real progress in the field of technology. The new generation phone i.e., “the i-phones” clearly proved the point that Indian market and people both are really looking for some fine technology with some best services to them. But the question of the launching of the i-phones and moreover their unlock version is a big question in the mind of the people framing all the sectors of the society.

Apple is launching the i-phones in different editions. In India 8GB version is among the pick of all. Apple will launch the Apple i Phones in partnership with telecom major Vodafone. The Indian placed market would get to see the 8GB version of the Apple iphone that is said to be  combine Wi-Fi capabilities with a powerful online music store, TV feeds, email clients and map based location guide.

The Apple iphone was expected to be priced at 28,000 previously. But recently, the rate of the i phones has decreased very instantly thus resulting in the variation in the cost of the i phone which is yet to be fixed in Indian market exactly. It may vary  to a good sum..!

Apple would look at the response to this Apple iPhone edition before launching the higher end Apple iPhone 16GB edition. Apple had earlier said that it aimed to bring the Apple iPhone to Asia within 2008. The i phones are expected to hit the Indian market on the Divali season… gifting iphones as the new tool to the tech progress of India. Though being so much of use, there are few pre- assumptions on the unlocking and functioning of the i-phones.

8Gb model of iphone where in the price has been dropped from $599 to $264.85. Lets see what pricing would be fixed when iphones would be sold in india and will they be unlocked version is another big question.

The issue of unlocking the Apple iPhone would surface in India as well. Unlocking the Apple iPhone has been a hot topic ever since its global launch. Unlocking the iPhone without losing call quality, free open source hacker kits like AppTapp and the like were subjects of discussion all around. The only way Indian mobile users can use an iPhone in India as of now is by unlocking it.

Here you can check some means to unlock the iphones. As, evryone one’s the unlocking of iphones has become much of an issue and a discuss theme rather than the launching of iphones. so, it has become very important to give the serious node at it.!

http://iphoneindia.gyanin.com/tag/unlock-iphone-in-india/

In India basically the iphones will be launched by vodafone and Airtel. They have decided to make this nxt geenration phone familiar among the common people, and is working hard to gave the best result out of it.!

Hybrid CaRs ReAdy To hit the INDIAN roads… CIvIc’s The First.!!! June 19, 2008

The last few weeks has been abuzz with a slew of launches in the auto industry in India. Two themes have clearly emerged as the next wave—lower price and eco-friendliness. The answer to eco-friendliness has been pretty dominated by the hybrid vehicles displayed at the Auto Expo, New Delhi, this year by many players. Following this, of course, have been a barrage of articles on why hybrids is ‘the technology’ for India and its impact has been discussed and debated in various forums. This effort is to assess the potential economic and environmental impact of hybrids and whether this could well be just another bright spot among the numerous efforts in this direction.

Hybrid vehicles run on electricity and another fuel, which could be petrol, diesel or bio-fuel. The car owner has the option to drive the car using either electricity or petrol and can easily switch from one to another. These vehicles help reduce emissions by generating power from an electric motor, burning less fuel for each mile travelled.

With rising concerns about environmental pollution and global warming, everyone is trying to do their bit towards correcting the same. Honda Motor Co, with the launch of their Civic Hybrid, had contributed their bit too. Now, the company has launched the vehicle in the Indian market too. On 18th June 2008, Japanese car maker Honda Motor Co unveiled its first hybrid vehicle in India, when it launched its sedan Civic, already available in 32 other countries of the world. Honda Civic Hybrid has been equipped with both a petrol engine and an electric battery.

Honda Civic Hybrid The car will be imported in India, as a completely built unit (CBU), at the import duty of 104 per cent. This is the reason why its launch price will be a steep Rs 21.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The CBU will be imported from Japan, where the hybrid car is being produced for the entire global market. As per Mr Masahiro Takedagawa, President and CEO – Honda Siel Cars India, the company is exploring the option of import the engine and components to India and then assembling the car, as a semi-knocked down unit.

If the company is able to establish that in the near future, the cost of the car will come down significantly, since a semi-knocked down attracts much less duty. According to the officials of Honda Motor Co, the main aim behind the launch of the hybrid car in India is not the generation of high volumes. Rather, the company wants to let people be aware of its technology and commitment to the environment. The company has already imported 130 cars in India and expects the sales to reach around 300 during the year.

As far as the possibility of making Civic Hybrid in India is concerned, Mr Masahiro Takedagawa has ruled out the same. The reason for this was cited as technical constraints, which do not allow the car to be made anywhere in the world, except Japan. Honda Civic Hybrid will be offered with a 1.3 liter petrol engine. The engine and the motor will function together, right from the time of the start of the car to acceleration. However, once the car reached a high speed, it will automatically go on engine.

In the case where the car seems to be idling, usually being driven at 40-50 km per hour, the petrol engine will automatically stop working. The car will, rather, starts operating on battery on its own, thereby leading to saving of fuel as well as maximum fuel efficiency. According to the company officials, the fuel efficiency of Honda Civic Hybrid is somewhere around 19 km per liter. This is quite higher compared to petrol-based model of Honda Civic, which gives a mileage of around 15 km per liter.

Condom vending machines and society issues.!!! June 18, 2008

CONDOM VENDING MACHINES are the hottest topic doing the rounds in the country especially among youngsters. The changing trends and the attitude to ape the western world have hyped sexual activity. India has more than five million HIV/AIDS sufferers second only to South Africa but efforts to control the disease stand against the extremely conservative traditions deep rooted in our culture.

Today, lot many youngsters indulge in sex and often led their way to unsafe sex just because, they are shy to ask for condoms from the third person or either the medical shops are way a little far from them. One, has to understand that, if a person mind is made up, he will have sex anyways, only thing we can do is to encourage “safe sex”.! The recent increase in the number of extramarital affairs and having sex with multiple partners has let to the increase in the HIV/AIDS cases only.! How can one afford to take a risk in the heat of the moment and regret it for the rest of his or her life.? It is wiser to use protection than to play the game unarmed.

The concept of condom vending machines is fairly new to India but most of the people are unaware about the machines that are also known as condom ATMs. In Chennai and Hyderabad, condom vending machines have been installed in “public toilets” and a lot of people are happy with them. Its a great idea to help people protect themselves from the HIV pandemic and unwanted pregnancies. Lot of people are taking a step to experience the sex when they r young n stepping into the the era where they r not restricted to old myths and concepts realting to sex. Tough still lot of guys feel shy to go to a medical shop n ask for a condom just because there might be some lady or women, standing on the shop or they r just simply shy and hence lands up in truly unprotected sex leding tthem to many miseries n might be some diseases. This condom vending machine save us the thread of walking up and asking for a condom and help enjoy safe sex.

The controversy swirling around condom vending machines is that their installation is likely to corrupt the youth and damage the ideals of our country. What ideals are being talked about is the question. If one were to have sex with a stranger, would it be wise to use a condom or simply go in for unprotected sex? Can our cherished ideals control thousands of individuals plunging in the act or would condom vending machines help control the HIV/AIDS crisis to an extent?

Some people think that condom vending machines will corrupt the youth and encourage them to experiment with sex on a wider scale. But in our country, everybody is doing it and nobody wants to talk about it. How sane is this attitude? Can we stop people from indulging in the act itself by promoting AIDS awareness among the masses?

“Condom vending machines should be installed in Pubs and nightclubs where a lot of youngsters end up having one-night stands. Many of  today’s generation ended up indulging in unsafe sex because the chemist stores were either shut down or were out of their way. These machines would definitely help people in a big way.”

Condom vending machines are an effort to raise HIV/AIDS awareness. They certainly do not collide with the values of our country. For those who are against the concept, think about the number of lives that might be saved with the effort.
I m truly in support for such an effective measure which can help our nation to overcome or safeguard our forth coming generation from some heavy epidimics like HIV/AIDS. And i feel one must participate too in raising the voice against the political contraversies over this issue, and the moral values for the sake of the coming generation. As we all know the time is changing and one has to change the way  to think n measure on such an important prospective. Its we who can take our nation somewhere ..as we r the one who are called n well known as the “YOUTH” of nation.! if we will lag behind them who wil come forward an talk about this issue.!!!
For more information about measures taken by indian government and common people you can refer on this link   http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/543913.cms.
